Prosertek attends the Intermodal Africa 2022 exhibition

The Prosertek Group was present at Intermodal Africa 2022, the biggest port logistics exhibition and conference in the African content, which was hosted by Dakar Port Authority. This is a vital commercial event for the West African port and logistics sector and a must-attend event for making business in the zone. Intermodal Africa took place from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 June 2022 at the King Fahd Palace Hotel in Dakar, Senegal. This luxury environment provided the setting for edition number 27 of the annual gathering, which confirmed its position as the biggest port, maritime and transport logistics exhibition and conference in the African continent. The exhibition had two days of conferences which gathered 30 top-level speakers in the transport and logistics field. It also had an exhibition space where 40 companies in the sector could display their products and make contact with other agents in the port and freight transport sector with a view to establishing a contact network. Prosertek is returning to one of the leading fairs in the port sector. Namely, ILTA 2022, the trade fair and conference specialised in the liquid terminals segment taking place from 13 to 15 June in Houston, Texas. Considered the largest meeting in its sector, the fair is now in its 42nd year under the organisation of the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA). This first post-pandemic edition of the event hopes to be attended by more than 4,500 professionals from the liquid terminal sector. ILTA 2022 takes place over 3 days with a full agenda of educational sessions, conferences, networking and a large trade exhibition that will be attended by Prosertek. The top 10 environmental priorities of the European ports

Each year the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) publishes the European port sector environmental report. A comprehensive “green” treaty with more than 60 key points in terms of ports’ environmental performance, which is condensed in 10 main environmental priorities. We take a look at the most important ones: Climate change Climate change has become an absolute priority for ports for obvious reasons. Almost eight out of every ten European ports take climate change into account when developing new infrastructure projects. Furthermore, 62% of ports strengthen climate resilience of their existing infrastructure and 47% of them has already faced operational challenges due to climate change. Energy consumption As is to be expected, controlling energy consumption is important. In this regard, more than half of the ports are providing electricity to ships operating at the dock and 48% of them provides high voltage electricity to seagoing ships. One third of them have an LNG supply that is supplied mainly by trucks (90%) and barges (20%).
