A few days afo, the 2019 Forum of Prosertek took place, this time dedicated to low voltage cable and its surroundings. A large number of participants and experts from the sector attended this event full of talks and trainings.

Prosertek in Indonesia to exchange rubber experiences

One of Prosertek’s maxims is innovation. To innovate, one needs in-depth knowledge of the product being worked with, and also to share experiences and work methods with specialists on said product. In our case, this is rubber, the material we use to manufacture our port fenders. Last May we travelled to Sri Lanka to exchange information with the oldest rubber research institute in the world, the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka . This time around, we travelled to Indonesia, the current leader in production of this resin. Our visit to the Asian country perpetuates our “collective engineering” methodology, framed under our strategy based on excellence and sustained progress, so as to boost development and optimisation of rubber compounds and fender manufacturing processes. Thus, for several days, a delegation from our company conducted technical meetings and prospection with Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT), otherwise known as Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology in English. 2018 Prosertek forum on anti-corrosion treatments

Once again, the Prosertek Forum brought together great professionals from different industries to exchange experiences and to discover real work processes on-site. While last year’s speeches were focused on transmission systems, this year, anti-corrosion treatments were at the forefront of the meeting. This Forum can undeniably be rated as highly interesting. In addition to Prosertek’s technical and industrial staff, paint manufacturers (such as Hempel), anti-corrosion treatment applicators (Cabarri galvanising, Cabipint coating, Mendieta coating), end users (Repsol) and engineering and consulting firms (such as consultant Jaime Marcos and the companies Proes and Sener) were present. The meeting, with kicked off with presentations given by representatives of participating firms, was structured around three speeches: hot galvanising, painting systems, and lastly, terminology, paint defects, inspections and guarantees. The first speech, on hot galvanising, was highly practical. Participants travelled to Galvanizados Cabarri’s facilities in the Martiartu de Arrigorriaga Industrial Park to observe the galvanisation process. The firm’s manager, Fernando Ibarra, was in charge of accompanying the guests on a guided tour, showing them the hot melted-zinc dip galvanisation process, the activity they carry out. Prosertek travels to Sri Lanka, the cradle of rubber

Experience and innovation. These are two of the pillars that uphold a company whose goal is to become a point of reference in its industry, and Prosertek has become one of the leading companies in the international maritime equipment market for ship mooring. How did we do it? In addition to other factors, because we talked to great specialists to exchange knowledge and apply it to our work. Such was the case with the visit recently made by a Prosertek delegation to Sri Lanka, one of the cradles of rubber. This material is one of the main elements used to make the rubber used to manufacture marine fenders: IV fenders, HZ fenders, TCN fenders and SC fenders, and other product ranges. This Asian country is home to the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka (RRISL), the oldest rubber research institute in the world. New edition of the International Maritime Equipment Medium Technician course in Cartagena de Indias

Last 7 and 9 of February, our colleague Gorka Elorrieta, Technical Director at Prosertek, gave the course on Specialisation in Maritime Equipment and its Environment, at the privileged site of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia). Gorka has plenty of experience in the industrial world and in designing, manufacturing and installing maritime equipment. He is accredited by the Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria Náutico Pesquero de Pasaia (Secondary Nautical Fishing Teaching Institute of Pasaia, Basque Country) to teach International Maritime Equipment Technician courses. The course was opened and sponsored by COTECMAR (Science and Technology Corporation for the Development of the River and Maritime Naval Industry of Colombia) and IPIN (Pan-American Institute of Naval Engineers). This training is indispensable for those in charge of designing, manufacturing, inspecting, maintaining and operating the maritime equipment needed for port maritime activity, as well as compatibility for the ship and terminal, bearing the requirements from different regulations on maritime equipment in mind.
